1. Agreement to these terms
By using abbotsfordconnect.ca, joining the waitlist, submitting business information, or holding a listing, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you are agreeing on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorized to do so. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
2. Who we are
Abbotsford Connect is an online local business directory for Abbotsford and Mission, British Columbia. It is operated by FindYou Media (findyou.media), the production house behind the FindYou.ca directory network. In these terms, "we", "us", and "our" mean Abbotsford Connect and FindYou Media. 3. Waitlist
Joining the waitlist reserves your place in line. It is not a contract, does not guarantee a listing, and does not lock in any price until you complete a paid membership. Founding-member offers, including any lifetime listing and any introductory rate, are limited in number and time and may be withdrawn or changed before you purchase.
No launch date has been announced. We will not invent one, and any date you see elsewhere is not ours.
4. Listing eligibility
A business must be located in the Abbotsford–Mission catchment to be listed here. Location decides eligibility, not service area. The catchment includes Abbotsford and Mission, including Silverdale.
Home-based and mobile businesses located in the catchment are eligible. If your business also serves other cities, you are listed once, where you are located, and cross-linked to the relevant directories in the FindYou.ca network operated by FindYou Media. We do not create duplicate listings for the same business in the same directory.
We review every listing. We may decline any listing at our discretion, including where eligibility, legitimacy, or accuracy cannot be confirmed.
5. Memberships and benefits
A standard listing is free and includes your profile, contact details, categories, and website link.
Premium membership adds paid benefits, which may include category placement, homepage features, event promotion, and seasonal offers. Event and offer promotion is a premium benefit and is not included in a free standard listing. We may add, change, or retire specific premium benefits over time; we will not materially reduce the benefits of a paid term already purchased without offering a reasonable alternative.
6. Pricing, billing, and renewals
Prices are not published on this page and will be provided in writing before any purchase. All amounts are in Canadian dollars and exclude applicable taxes unless stated. Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor.
- Yearly membership is billed for a full year in advance and covers the term purchased.
- Introductory rate. Where a founding-member introductory yearly rate is offered, it is held for the stated period when paid annually and without interruption. If a payment lapses or the membership is cancelled, the introductory rate is lost and standard pricing applies on any new membership.
- Lifetime listing is a single payment for a premium listing with no renewal fee, limited to a set number of founding members. "Lifetime" means the operating life of the Abbotsford Connect directory, not the lifetime of any person or business. It is tied to the business it was purchased for and is not transferable to another business without our written agreement.
7. Refunds
Yearly memberships are non-refundable. Payment for a yearly term is not refundable in whole or in part once the term begins, including if you cancel partway through the term. Your listing remains active until the end of the paid term.
Lifetime listings are non-refundable once the listing has been published. Before publication, a refund may be issued at our sole discretion. After the listing is live, the work has been performed and no refund is available.
Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have that cannot be excluded under applicable British Columbia or Canadian consumer protection law.
If we remove or suspend a paid listing for a breach of these terms, no refund is due. If we permanently discontinue the directory, we will deal with unexpired paid terms fairly and in good faith.
8. Your content and the licence you give us
You keep ownership of everything you send us — text, photos, logos, brand assets, and video links ("your content"). By sending it, you grant Abbotsford Connect a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, resize, crop, display, and publish your content on the directory and across the FindYou.ca network, and to use it to promote the directory and your listing within it. This licence extends to FindYou Media as operator of the network.
You confirm you own your content or have rights to give us this licence, and that publishing it will not infringe anyone's rights. The licence ends when your listing is removed, except for copies retained in backups, caches, or third-party search indexes we do not control.
9. Accuracy and your responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy of your listing information, including your address, hours, licensing, and the services you claim to provide. Keep it current — tell us when it changes. We may correct obvious errors, standardize formatting, or edit for length and clarity without changing meaning.
10. Google Business Profile content
If you ask us to display your Google rating and reviews dynamically, that content is retrieved from Google and remains subject to Google's terms. We do not create, edit, moderate, or verify it, and we are not responsible for its accuracy. You can ask us to turn the display off at any time.
11. The Abbotsford Connect mark
The Abbotsford Connect name, logo, wordmark, and site design are the property of FindYou Media. Current members may display the member mark on their own website using the badge and embed code we supply, solely to indicate their listing, and only while the listing is active. The embed code is provided privately to members and is not for redistribution. Any other use of our brand requires written permission.
12. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent business information, or claim a business you are not authorized to represent.
- List a business that is not located in the catchment.
- Scrape, harvest, copy, or republish the directory or its listings in bulk, by any means, including automated agents.
- Interfere with the site's operation or security, or attempt unauthorized access.
- Post unlawful, defamatory, hateful, deceptive, or infringing content.
- Use contact details found in the directory to send unsolicited commercial messages.
13. Removal and suspension
We may edit, suspend, or remove any listing, with or without notice, where we believe these terms have been breached, the information is inaccurate or unverifiable, the business is no longer eligible or operating, or the listing exposes us to legal risk. Where practical we will contact you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
14. No guarantee of results
A listing is a marketing channel, not a guaranteed outcome. We do not promise any particular search ranking, traffic volume, number of enquiries, inclusion in any AI answer, or business result. Search engines and answer engines are independent of us and change how they work without notice.
15. Third-party links
The directory links to other websites, including businesses, organizations, and other directories in our network. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices. A link is not an endorsement, and a reference to an organization does not imply a partnership unless we say so explicitly.
16. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The site and the directory are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that listing information is accurate or complete.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Abbotsford Connect, FindYou Media, and their respective operators, officers, and staff are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the site or your listing is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or CAD $100 if you paid nothing.
17. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Abbotsford Connect, FindYou Media, and their operators from claims, damages, and reasonable legal costs arising from your content, your listing, your use of the site, or your breach of these terms.
18. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada. The courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction, subject to any consumer protection rights that entitle you to bring a claim elsewhere.
19. Changes
We may update these terms as the directory develops. The "last updated" date reflects the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept it. Material changes affecting paid members will be communicated by email.
