Terms of use

By using abbotsfordconnect.ca, joining the waitlist, registering a business or holding a listing, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you're agreeing for a business, you confirm you're authorized to do so.

Abbotsford Connect is an online local business directory for Abbotsford and Mission, BC, operated by FindYou Media as part of the FindYou.ca network. "We", "us" and "our" mean Abbotsford Connect and FindYou Media.

Joining the waitlist or registering early reserves your place. It is not a contract, does not guarantee a listing, and does not lock in a price until you complete a paid membership.

Founding offers, including the complimentary Premium spots and the founding rate, are limited in number and may change or be withdrawn before you accept them. Complimentary spots are chosen by us from early registrations, at our discretion. No launch date has been announced.

Businesses located in the Abbotsford–Mission area, including home-based and mobile businesses, can be listed. Location decides eligibility, not service area.

A business that also serves other cities is listed once, where it's located, and may be cross-linked to its pages in other Connect directories. Businesses located elsewhere can join the waitlist for their own city's Connect directory.

We review every listing and may decline one at our discretion, including where eligibility, legitimacy or accuracy can't be confirmed. We don't create duplicate listings for the same business.

A standard listing is free. Premium membership adds paid benefits, which may include your logo and photos, priority placement in search and the removal of ads from your listing page. We may add, change or retire specific benefits over time, but we won't materially reduce the benefits of a paid term you've already bought without offering a reasonable alternative.

Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude applicable taxes unless stated. Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor.

• Yearly membership is billed a full year in advance.
• Founding rate. Where a founding rate is offered, it's held for as long as the membership renews without interruption. If a payment lapses or the membership is cancelled, the founding rate ends and regular pricing applies to any new membership.

Yearly memberships are non-refundable once the term begins, including if you cancel partway through. Your listing stays active until the end of the paid term.

Nothing here limits rights you have under British Columbia or Canadian consumer protection law that can't be excluded. If we remove a paid listing for a breach of these terms, no refund is due. If we permanently close the directory, we'll deal with unexpired paid terms fairly and in good faith.

You keep ownership of everything you send us. By sending it, you give Abbotsford Connect and FindYou Media a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, resize, crop, display and publish it in the directory and across the FindYou.ca network, and to use it to promote the directory and your listing.

You confirm you own your content or have the right to give us this licence. The licence ends when your listing is removed, except for copies in backups, caches or search indexes we don't control.

You're responsible for the accuracy of your listing, including your location, hours, licensing and the services you offer. Tell us when something changes. We may fix obvious errors and edit for length and clarity without changing the meaning.

You agree not to:

• Submit false or misleading business information, or claim a business you can't represent.
• Describe a business as located in Abbotsford or Mission when it isn't.
• Scrape, copy or republish the directory in bulk, including with automated tools.
• Interfere with the site's operation or security.
• Post unlawful, defamatory, hateful, deceptive or infringing content.
• Use contact details from the directory to send unsolicited commercial messages.

We may edit, suspend or remove a listing where we believe these terms have been broken, the information is inaccurate or unverifiable, the business is no longer eligible or operating, or the listing exposes us to legal risk. Where practical, we'll contact you first so you can fix it.

A listing is a marketing channel, not a guaranteed outcome. We don't promise any search ranking, traffic, number of enquiries or inclusion in any AI answer. Search and answer engines are independent of us.

The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Abbotsford Connect, FindYou Media and their operators and staff are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or lost profits or data. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or CAD $100 if you paid nothing.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada. The courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction, subject to any consumer protection rights that let you bring a claim elsewhere.

We may update these terms as the directory develops. The date at the top shows the current version. We'll email paid members about material changes that affect them.
